112 vehicles seized, over Rs 90 lakh recovered from violators
Yamunanagar: The district adjoining Yamuna river is popular for illegal mining in Haryana. In a continued crackdown on illegal mining, district administration has registered 17 FIRs against persons allegedly involved in illegal mining between July and October 15, 2025. During this period, as many as 112 vehicles used in illegal mining and transportation of minerals have been seized. According to information, a sum of Rs 44.66 lakh was recovered from vehicles involved in illegal mining. Besides, Rs 45,44,872 was recovered from stone crushers and screening plants illegally functioning in the district as fine during this period Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta said while talking to media persons.
The DC said that, following directions from the Haryana Government, strict measures are being taken to stop illegal mining in the district. “The district administration is taking stern action against those involved in illegal mining. No one, found involved in illegal mining activities, shall be spared,” he said to tighten surveillance, the district administration has constituted multiple teams of district officials and installed eight nakas at various locations to monitor and intercept illegal transportation of mining materials.
While talking to media persons, Parth Gupta added that two mobile teams, headed by the SDMs of Vyaspur and Chhachhrauli have also been constituted to ensure regular field inspections, conduct raids and rapid response to the complaints. He directed officials to intensify monitoring of mining areas and to act swiftly on any reports of a complaint as regard illegal activity are received by the officials from the mining department along with the police department, should take action against those involved in illegal mining and should get registered FIRs against them. He further instructed mining officials to maintain comprehensive surveillance over both legal and illegal mining operations in the district. According to information, six tractors, 20 trolleys have been seized during a recent raid at village Unhed near Yamuna river under Jathluda police station by ED Inspector Rohtash. Rs 90 lakh fine is being collected from the accused involved in illegal mining when all the persons managed to flee leaving their tractors and trolleys, impounded by raiding team
