Sopore (Kashmir): On the inspiring theme Taleem se Tarakki (progress through education), the Indian Army took a significant stride towards securing a brighter future for the youth of Kashmir, particularly the students of North Kashmir.
In collaboration with the District Administration of Kupwara, Baramulla and Bandipora, the Army organised a first of its kind of mega “North Kashmir Education Fest-2025” in this part of Kashmir at Subhan Sports Stadium, Sopore.

The fest witnessed a huge enthusiastic participation from over 3000 students, who went back to their homes benefiting from a focused and aptitude-based valuable career guidance.
Scholarships worth Rs 3 crore were announced by participating educational institutions to support meritorious students from underprivileged and tribal backgrounds.
The objective of the event was to provide an opportunity rich platform to students to avail higher education avenues in premier institutions across the country
Reputed colleges and universities from across India participated in the event and enabled the students in selecting suitable courses and academic streams aligned with their aspirations, Students received insights into a wide array of academic fields including business, science, engineering, humanities, arts and social sciences.
As a major milestone in fostering a progressive environment in the Valley, the event reflected the collaborative efforts of the Indian Army, civil administration and the awam in promoting educational empowerment.
The aspiring youth were also made aware about the opportunities available for joining the Indian Army through the ‘Know Your Army’ campaign.
As education is the cornerstone of a peaceful and prosperous future, this Indian Army initiative stands as a testament to that belief. Steering the youth towards knowledge and self-reliance, this small step has been hailed by the local awam as one of the major building blocks for ‘Naya’ Kashmir.
