Special POCSO court also imposes ₹52,000 fine on each convict; accused had filmed assault and threatened victim, say police
Gurugram: The special POCSO of Nuh has convicted two accused of gang-raping a minor girl sentenced them to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment.
Additional Sessions Judge Dr Ashu Sanjeev Tinjan also imposed a fine of Rs 52,000 each on the accused and if not paid, the convicts will undergo additional imprisonment.
According to the police, the convicts were identified as Sahil alias Kala and Risal alias Sussa, residents of Autha village under Pinangwa police station in district Nuh. The case dates back to September 3 in 2021, when a minor girl had gone to the forest to collect crops. It was alleged that the accused, finding her alone, raped her at gunpoint, took photos and videos of her, and threatened to make the videos viral and kill her if she told anyone. Fearing this, the victim did not immediately report the incident.
According to Nuh police when the ussue went viral on social.mefia, the victims mother approached police and FIR was registered at the Pinangwa police station on September 22 in 2021.
After registering FIR, both the accused were arrested and sent into judicial custody. During the investigation, necessary evidence was collected by the police. “The case was heard in the Special POCSO Court in Nuh. Both accused were convicted on October 13 and sentences were pronounced on Thursday. The court sentenced each convict to 20 years in prison under the POCSO Act and imposed a fine of Rs 52,000 on each. The court has ordered the time spent in custody during the trial to be deducted from the sentence”, added the spokesperson of Nuh police.
