Two women among three arrested for murdering businessman in Ambala

Ambala: Police has taken in custody three persons including two women allegedly involved in murder of a prominent businessman having plenty of retail shops in Ram Bazar Ambala Cantt. The arrested accused were identified as Hemant, his sister Priya and his wife Priti, all residents of Rail Vihar. Ambala Cantt This is the second sensational murder in Ambala Cantt in the past couple of days. Earlier, the body of a 13 years old boy Gaurav, a resident of Ambala Cantt class IX student kidnapped for ransom demand was recovered in a parked car packed in a suitcase. Finding the smell, the residents of the area brought out a suitcase and found the body. Police have taken in custody a man, whereas the prime accused is yet absconding and police are trying raids at various hide outs for the arrest of absconding accused.

 Police on Thursday arrested three persons, two women and a man for allegedly murdering a prominent local store owner in Ambala Cantt and the victim has been identified as Mahesh Gupta (43), owner of Shri Ram Bazaar store. According to the FIR the accused were identified as Hemant, his sister Priya,  an ex-employee of the victim and his wife Priti, all residents. The deceased suspect was strangled to death having severe stabs on his body around neck, including the secret parts in the body were recovered by the family of the victim whose body was recovered from Priya’s house who had worked at the victim’s store in the , said police.


In complaint to the police, the deceased’s brother Ravi Gupta told the police that Mahesh considered one of the accused Priya as his sister and had gone to deliver a few items to her around 11 am, when not return home for lunch and his mobile phone was found not responding they started looking for him. After spotting his two-wheeler near Priya’s house they knocked at the door several times. On getting no reply they managed to enter and found Mahesh lying on the floor with his neck tied by a piece of cloth by Hemant, while Priti was holding his hands and Priya was hitting on his head, Ravi added. Ravi said that the accused managed to flee and Mahesh was taken to the civil hospital, where he was declared dead by the doctors.

According to Rajat Gulia DSP Ambala Cantt, the deceased’s brother told the police the trio had called his brother to their house to complete their black magic and kill him. He said that the body was handed over to the family after the autopsy and a case under relevant sections of IPC under section 120, 302 was registered. “The doctors have found strangulation marks on the neck and injuries on private parts and other areas of the body. We have arrested three of them and the black magic allegations are being probed,” he added.
