Yamunanagar:  Anti Narcotics Cell during raid at Malikpur Khadar village in Yamunanagar district. Police arrested a woman named Shamim carrying 254 grams of smack. According to police, Shamim was involved in smuggling of smack in the area for the last about four years but no case was registered against her earlier. However, her husband Tayyab and others absconded. Police claim that the accused Shamim was illegally supplying smack in the area for about the last four years. Anti Narcotics Cell in-charge Satpal said that the accused Shamim was produced in the court and taken on remand. Preliminary investigation revealed that she used to supply drugs in small quantities mainly in rural areas. The police conducted raids several times in the past also but no drugs could be recovered from her, due to which she kept escaping.

On Sunday, information was received that the accused had kept narcotics in their house. Accordingly, the team of Anti Narcotics Cell arrived in several vehicles and raided the house of the accused. During the raid, a polythene carrying smack was recovered in the presence of duty magistarte and Shamim was arrested from the spot. A case has been registered against her in Chhachhrauli police station in Yamunanagar district. She was produced in the court on Monday and remanded to police custody to find out from where she was procuring drugs and to whom these were being supplied.
