BJP government responsible for ruining sugarcane and poplar plants growers: Shelja

Satish Handa, May 6 : Addressing a large gathering at Jagadhari and Yamunanagar in Ambala Lok Sabha constituency, former Union Minister Kumari Shelja Rajya Sabha member contesting polls accuses ruling BJP government’s erratic policies responsible for financial crisis faced by sugarcane and popular plants growers in past five years as a result of neglect by the Member Parliament never visited the constituency. Farmers failed to get both end meals due to higher cost of production in this period and thousands of workers employed in ffamous metal and plywood industry at Jagadhari-Yamunanagar have become jobless in past few years due to slump in these industries as a result large number of units were closed down in past few years due to ‘Notbandi’ and GST. She said, when Congress was ruling in the state, these industrial units were doing handsome business but everything finished in past five years.
Shelja reminded few projects got approved by her when she was MP in the constituency for 10 years. which included Government College for Girls at Chachhroli, Institute of Hotel Management at Sadhoura, Sports Stadium at Chachhroli, construction of roads between Budia to Devgarh, road repairs between Kalanaur and Yamuna river, women polytechnics at Jagadhari and Sadhoura, several Aanganwari, Community and primary health centres in the constituency and approval for project worth 879 crores for laying railway line between Chandigarh and Yamunanagar via Naraingarh remained dumped in files in past five years BJP rule. Shelja expressed deep concern over illegal mining going on in the constituency by mafias sheltered by BJP leaders and their shops would be closed down immediately after Congress comes to power.
