After demolishing large number of residential and commercials buildings illegally owned by drug smugglers, gangsters and hard core criminals and many more under the process of demolishing under Bulldozer campaign in Haryana, now the buildings belonging to liquor mafias are the next target to be demolish under the same campaign by ruling state government for which a list such buildings has already been compiled by the government. Information reveals, most of their buildings have been constructed illegally on government land.
Recently, on Tuesday police teams from Kharoda police station, CIA Staff-I Sonipat, Municipal Committee along with duty magistrate arrived along with several bulldozers and demolished two highly controversial during year 2020 when lock down was declared in the state by the government big godowns illegally built at Kharkhoda bypass owned by a liquor smuggler Bhupinder a resident of Chandigarh having nearly 18 criminal cases allegedly smuggling liquor registered against him at Sonipat, Panipat, Bahadurgarh and in Himachal Pradesh police stations. Bhupinder was having high level contacts with senior police and administrative officers in the state as well senior political leaders sheltering him in his illegal business.
During lock down in Haryana state Bhupinder along with police and excise department employees lifted huge stocks of liquor seized by the police and excise department in various raids kept in his godown which was lifted, illegally sold since all liquor shops were declared closed in the state and smuggled huge quantity of liquor to other states, especially Bihar and Gujarat declared dry by the government at much higher rates. According to information, as many as seven police employees including Jasbir Singh then SHO at Kharkhoda police station found involved in conspiracy for lifting liquor stocks from godowns under strict police vigil were arrested among them the services of two police employees were also terminated by the government.
Himanshu Garg SP Sonipat told that during raid at Bhupinder’s Chandigarh residence police also recovered Rs 97 lakh currency notes and a revolver. He told that after demolishing Bhupinder’s godwns at Kharkhoda there are more than 16 liquor mafias in the area involved in illegal liquor smuggling on police radar having a list of their illegal properties likely to be demolished under Bulldozer campaign in near future. Information also reveals that Bhupinder used to collect lquor illegally from a distillery at Rajpura in Punjab and due to his contacts nobody was checking his vehicles carrying illicit liquor which was refilled in his godowns at Kharkhoda where the same was refilled in costly liquor bottles and smuggled to adjoining Delhi as well as other states in much higher rates. According to information state police department has already prepared a list of properties belonging to liquor mafias in Haryana state likely to be demolished in near future under Bulldozer campaign.
