Initiative aims to deliver free screenings and awareness across rural Delhi in memory of Chaudhary Ramkaran Solanki

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the ‘Cancer Free Delhi Rural’ campaign—an ambitious community health initiative led by Palam 360 Khap in collaboration with Amerix Cancer Hospital—for its efforts in bringing free cancer screening and awareness to Delhi’s underserved rural areas.

Dedicated to the memory of the late Chaudhary Ramkaran Solanki, a prominent social reformer and grassroots leader, the campaign was formally launched at Amerix Cancer Hospital in Dwarka Sector-19 under the leadership of Chaudhary Surender Solanki, current chief of Palam 360 Khap.

In a tribute delivered on the fourth death anniversary of Chaudhary Ramkaran Solanki, Prime Minister Modi acknowledged Solanki’s tireless work for farmers, labourers, and marginalized communities. He emphasized how the campaign complements national health initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, especially in enhancing access to early cancer detection and treatment for rural populations.

The campaign has drawn widespread support from senior political leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda, and South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri. Speaking at the launch, Bidhuri said, “Late Chaudhary Ramkaran Solanki not only became the voice of Delhi’s rural areas but also made continuous efforts to address people’s problems by staying connected to the ground.”

A key feature of the campaign is the introduction of the Sankalp Card by Amerix Cancer Hospital. This patient-benefit card offers up to 50% discounts on essential cancer screening tests such as Pap smear, PSA, and Mammography, along with concessional access to other cancer care services. The card aims to significantly improve healthcare affordability and accessibility for patients in rural Delhi.

“This is not just a tribute to my father’s legacy, but a pledge to serve rural communities with the dignity and access they deserve,” said Chaudhary Surender Solanki. “No one should lose a loved one due to delayed cancer diagnosis or lack of facilities in rural parts of Delhi.”

Dr. Ashish Gupta, Chief of Medical Oncology at Amerix Cancer Hospital, emphasized the campaign’s long-term vision: “Our goal through this initiative is to democratize cancer care and create a community-driven health ecosystem. Early detection can save lives, and our mobile screening vans and awareness teams are committed to reaching the last mile. Amerix is focused on creating not just treatment facilities, but hope, awareness, and action.”

He added that Prime Minister Modi’s acknowledgment “inspires us to continue our mission with greater resolve.”

As the campaign rolls out across various rural zones in Delhi, it promises a vital lifeline to thousands through mobile health camps, educational workshops, and subsidized diagnostics—bridging the critical gap between awareness and timely treatment in cancer care.
