BBMB surpassed its targets

Chandigarh: BBMB is committed to provide continuous water and power to the country’s northern region. Complying with the Govt. guidelines pertaining to lockdown and social distancing, BBMB is running its Power Houses and sub-stations with requisite manpower. With strong dedication, highest professional standards of operation and maintenance, one of the highest machine availability of 98.94% have been achieved during 2019-20 against 97.95% for the last year 2018-19.
BBMB has also recorded all time high transmission system availability of 99.82% during 2019-20 as compared to 99.69% during the year 2018-19.
All BBMB Power houses have surpassed generation targets set for them individually by the Central Electricity Authority and generated total of 12,176 million units of energy as against target of 9470 million units.

By maintaining optimum generation scheduling and close monitoring under Availability Based Tariff (ABT) regime, BBMB has accrued additional revenue of Rs.25.32 crore during the year 2019-20.

BBMB has maintained all the essential services at all its project stations, sub-stations and at Head office and is contributing continuously towards Nation’s fight against COVID-19 through its hospitals, ambulances free of charge to public and also by deploying men & machineries. BBMB, is also helping daily wage laborers by providing them cooked food and ration items at all its project stations i.e. Nangal, Talwara, BSL Project at Sundernagar and also at Chandigarh.
