BSF seized drug consignments over 12 kilogram from two different locations of Amritsar & Tarn Taran districts

Amritsar, April –  Border Security Force (BSF) have seized over 12 kilogram drug  (heroin) consignment from two different locations of Amritsar and Tarn Taran border belts.

In an official statement issued here today, BSF said that on 04th Apr’ 2023 at about 0850 PM, BSF deployed at the border, heard a buzzing sound of a drone entering from Pakistan into Indian territory in the area near Village – Dhanoe Kalan in District – Amritsar. As per the laid down drill, troops immediately reacted to intercept the drone by firing.

During subsequent searches of the area, BSF troops recovered three big sized and nine small packets wrapped in yellow adhesive tape from the wheat fields of Village – Bachiwind, Amritsar. On opening of the recovered packets of contraband Heroin (Gross weight – 9.5 Kgs) were found.

In another incident, on April 5, , on specific information, BSF troops recovered 05 bottles filled with Heroin, concealed in the wheat fields, in a scattered manner, on own side of a fence near Village – Mehandipur in District – Tarn Taran. The gross weight of the recovered 05 bottles containing narcotics substance came out around 2.638 Kg.
