Coach attendant in train arrested smuggling drugs

AMBALA: Team of Crime Investigation Agency GRP led by Inspector Joginder Singh during a search campaign in Paschim Express train (No. 12926) running between Amritsar and Bandra railway stations recovered a case containing apples kept in luggage cabin of a train attendant in Ist class AC coach Chander Parkash originally hailing from village Shankar Pura in Allahabad district (U.P) on Tuesday. Inspector Joginder Singh told that when the wooden case containing apples was opened near Sonipat railway station three packets containing 3.5 kg Charas of value worth Rs 3 lakh were found under the apples and train attendant was arrested.

GRP SP at Ambala Sangeeta Kalia told that a search campaign against drugs smuggling led by Dheerak Kumar DSP Headquarter is going on since past few months in which GRP at railway stations and RPF in trains has recovered huge quantity of drugs from the smugglers carrying for supply to other destinations. A case was registered against Chander Parkash coach attendant under NDPS Act who during preliminary investigation admitted smuggling drugs first times due to desire to earn extra money and was given a slip carrying mobile number when the consignment will be collected by an unidentified person while giving a ring when train reaches at Bandra railway station.
