Full support to govt, to deal with Pakistan, love to defence forces says Rahul

New Delhi: The Congress has reaffirmed and reiterated its support to the country’s defence forces and the government to deal with Pakistan following the terror attack in Pahalgam.

A meeting of the Congress Working Committee was held here today, which was presided over by the party president Mallikarjun Kharge and attended, among others, by the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal, Priyanka Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh and other senior leaders of the party.

Briefing reporters after the meeting, Cong President Kharge said the Congress is proud of the Indian Armed Forces, who, under Operation Sindoor, in a daring and decisive action, gave a befitting reply to Pakistan.

He said the Indian National Congress stands shoulder to shoulder with our brave soldiers who are defending the unity and integrity of the country with courage, determination, and a great sense of patriotism. He said our soldiers have always kept national security, unity, and integrity of the country above everything and laid down great sacrifices.

Kharge said the CWC reaffirmed and reiterated its support for every decisive action against terrorism of all forms emanating from Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.

He said Congress has given complete and full support to our soldiers to defend the country and preserve and safeguard its unity, integrity, and freedom. He made it categorically clear that “there are no differences on the issue, and we are united and together on this.”

Speaking on the occasion, Rahul Gandhi said, “Our full support to our forces, and our best wishes to them and much love to them.” He said the CWC has reiterated complete support to the defence forces.

Replying to a question about the invitation for the All-Party Meeting, Gandhi said, “We have been invited… we got a call today.”
