Gangster Monu Rana was brain behind spurious liquor tragedy in Haryana

The Ambala SP said that Ankit alias Mogli a resident of Ugala village in Ambala district  learnt  alcohol manufacturing from internet and started producing spurious liquor in a closed factory at village Dhanaura in Ambala district with the help of illegally smuggled ENA (Ethanol), who bought bottles from Kala Amb in Himachal Pradesh to supply liquor while labels for the bottles were procured from a Delhi resident, Ravinder alias Bablu who has now been arrested. SP Ambala Randhawa told media persons that18 of the 20 deceased were from the neighbouring Yamunanagar district and two were allegedly working in the same liquor factory. The police have now arrested 29 people in connection with the case involved in setting up the illegal liquor factory and in distributing the spurious alcohol.

The police identified arrested accused Ankit alias Mogli a resident of Ugala village as the main conspirator of the case and said he was looking after factory operations with the guidance of gangster Monu Rana presently lodged in Kurukshetra jail and brought on the production warrants for two days which was further enhanced for a day to investigate the case thoroughly. Information reveals that Monu Rana was oftenly in touch with Mongli and the contractors selling liquor on his mobile phone from inside the jail and after the incident of death of several persons consuming spurious liquor he burnt down his mobile phone inside the jail.

According to information, liquor vend at Phusgarh in Yamunanagar district from where spurious liquor was supplied was owned by three contractors (partners Tinku alias Sushil Kamboj resident of village Bhati, Amar Nath resident of Nachron and Vishal Rana resident of village Golni all arrested by the police  oprocuring illicit liquor at the rate of Rs 550 each case and used to sell at the rate between Rs 1100 and 1200 each case. After the incident of deaths the entire liquor stocks were destroyed in a agriculture field adjoining the factory by a youth Sudhir already arrested by the police. According to SP Yamunanagar Ganga Ram Poonia police have arrested 30 persons so far involved in hooch tragedy.

Addressing a press conference Ambala SP Randhawa said that after the death of two workers identified as Shivam alias Lokesh and Deepak residents of village Kurthal in Muzaffargarh district (U.P) presently residing in a rented house at Barara who had consumed spurious liquor produced in illegal factory, Barara police station in Ambala district has registered a case and arrested four persons identified as Shekhar resident of villege Khilwad in Meerut district, Parveen Kumar resident of  Kurthal Budana  in Muzaffarnagar district,  Uttam Singh and Puneet both residents  village  Dhanaura all working in illegal liquor factory. CIA-II after the arrest sent them to jail.   Meanwhile, Haryana police, STF, CID,  Excise department teams in a joint operation has started raids in different districts across the state where spurious liquor is being sold and has arrested 40 persons n 38 cases at Karnal, According to information 27 persons have been arrested in Rohtak district and 40 persons  in Yamunanagar preparing and selling spurious liquor and recovered huge quantity of Lahan used to produce liquor.
