CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said the BJP government in the state has fulfilled 60 of the 217 promises made in its 2024 election manifesto and is steadily working to complete the remaining commitments.

Addressing a press conference ahead of the upcoming Budget session of the Haryana Legislative Assembly beginning February 20, Saini asserted that the government treats its manifesto pledges as firm commitments rather than political rhetoric. He stated that work on around 120 additional promises is currently underway and progressing at a steady pace.

The Chief Minister emphasised that his government moved swiftly after assuming office to implement key initiatives, contrasting it with previous administrations that, he said, often delayed fulfilling their commitments until the end of their tenure.

Highlighting major achievements, Saini pointed to several welfare measures focused on women and farmers. He mentioned the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, which provides monthly financial assistance to eligible women beneficiaries. He also noted that Haryana has become the first state in the country to procure 24 crops at the guaranteed Minimum Support Price (MSP), describing it as a significant step toward safeguarding farmers’ interests.

Ahead of the Budget session, Saini said the government undertook extensive pre-budget consultations to ensure public participation. According to him, more than 2,100 suggestions were received from stakeholders, while over 12,000 inputs came from citizens through emails, letters, and a government chatbot. He added that between 4,000 and 5,000 of these suggestions are expected to be incorporated into the 2026–27 state Budget.

Reaffirming his government’s commitment to transparency and development, Saini said the upcoming Budget would reflect the aspirations of the people and lay a strong foundation for Haryana’s continued growth.
