Haryana moves ahead to fight corona likely to cause heavy loss to industry

In-spite of Haryana state government sealed all borders, thousands of migrant labourers mostly hailing from U.P and other states working in industry in the state have left for their native places due to 21 days lock down declared by the government. However, state government has assured to provide them place for the stay and foods during this period and nearly 800 Haryana Roadways buses from various depots including 153 buses from Sonepat depot, 125 buses each from Jhajjar and Faridabad depots, 100 buses each from Rohtak, Gurugram and Rewari depots, 75 buses each from Panipat, Palwal and Nuh depots and 34 buses from Jind depot has been deployed at the borders to shift people to their destination stations in alliance with U.P government going to meet fuel cost and Rs 1000 incentive to each Haryana Roadways driver.

According to health department information, search for nearly 200 persons suffering from cold and cough arrived from other countries is going on in the state. Haryana Cabinet Health Minister Anil Vij, told The Financial World that the state government is making necessary arrangements to fight corona with 722 ventilators in 199 government hospitals, 272 private hospitals and 210 medical colleges in the state, He said, five new laboratories are being set up at PGI Rohtak, Khojpur Medical College, Agroha Medical College, Kalpna Chawla Medical College Karnal and Government Hospital Panchkula besides 19059 isolation beds in the state. According to health department information state government has plans to open special COVID hospitals to treat corona patients in alliance with Adesh Medical College near Ambala and World Medical College at Jhajjar.

According to Central Pollution Control Board, air quality index (AQI) has been recorded 17 in the capital Chandigarh, which is lesser as compared to 101 clean cities across the country in past one year due to closure of industry and less traffic on roads because of lock down declared by the government. Meanwhile, industry entrepreneurs having nearly 2000 manufacturing units at Industrial Area 1 & II Chandigarh and Panchkula most of them manufacturing auto components, nut-bolts, railway parts, steel furniture, plastic components, bathroom fittings and other miscellaneous products told that industry is likely to suffer loss worth Rs 300 crore during  21 days lock down declared by the government.
