People in Amritsar celebrated inauguration of  Ram Temple in Ayodhya with great fervor

Amritsar, January 22 – Notwithstanding sheer bone chilling temperature in  the city, inhabitants were out of their houses to serve Langar (community kitchen)  on roads  while  chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’, gathered in the morning to mark the Ram Shobha Yatra on the eve of the Pran Pratishtha programme at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

School children were seen taking out long religious procession on roads amidst tight security.

People from different Hindu religious outfits including RSS also led    religious procession to mark the occasion.

Majority of the houses in the city could be seen with saffron flags atop and main entry of their houses.  People    were seen carrying saffron flags on their vehicles.

Many eating joints in the city were seen distributing free food to people to mark the grand opening of the Temple in Ayodhya.  Community kitchens were being run all over the city to distribute free food as               community people were enormously happy and celebrating the religious event.

Special religious events for  the opening of Ram Temple in  Ayodhya being organized at different temples in Amritsar. The famous Bhagwan Shri Balmik  Temple at Ram Tirath, Durgiana Temple and Shivala Temple organized grand religious events to mark the occasion. Devotees burnt crackers.

On Sunday night people illuminated candles and fancy electric lights in their houses.

President of Durgiana Temple, Lakshmi Kanta said that thousands of devotees paid obeisance in the Temple today and spent the day here while chanting religious hymns with full devotion to express their  happiness for the opening of  Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
