Ambala: Special Task Force (STF) Ambala on a information arrested a sharp shooter from Shahabad in Kurukshetra district identified as Robin Singh  a resident of Kaithal district belongs to Ankush Kamalpur gang who had demanded Rs 1 crore ransom amount from Sanjay Bura the owner of a Bura Overseas immigration Centre at Sector 10 Kurukshetra on 30th June 2023 evening when he was returning home along with his family and threatened to kill him as well as his family in case ransom amount was not made. Bura lodged a complaint with the police which arrested Robin Singh and also recovered from him a Desi pistol along with cartridges, STF DSP Aman  Kumar said on getting information a team led by Daljit SI and Satnam Singh ASI was immediately rushed to Shahabad which arrested him and a case was registered by Shahabad police station and Robin was remanded to police custody for six days.

In another case of ransom demand registered on the complaint of Balram a resident of Shadipur running a sweets shop in the name of Krishna Sweets near Old Bus Stand Julana in Jind district when five to six persons arrived at his residence on July 5 late evening introducing themselves as members of Rajesh Sarkari gang at Rohtak and demanded to arrange Rs 2 crore amount immediately, failing which threatened him to kill him along with his family. A case was registered by Julana police station on the complaint of Balraj the owner of Krishna Sweets shop and started investigation.

According to sources, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has proposed  shifting for the hard core gangsters locked in Haryana, Punjab and Delhi jails who are actively operating criminal activities through their gang members in the area operating from inside the jails. Sometime ago hard core criminal from  Pnjab Amritpal Singh and his associates were shifted to Dibrugarh jail in Assam..Information reveals, the National Investigation  Agency in a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs has written for shifting nearly a dozen terrorists to Andaman and Nicobar islands from North India jails in order to stop activities by the gangsters operating from inside the jails in northern states. Sources reveal, in a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs NIA had sought the transfer of at least 25 gangsters from jails in North India to the southern states. The list included Lawrence Bishnoi, a prime accused in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. The National Investigation Agency is learnt to have held discussions with the Ministry of Home Affairs for shifting 10-12 gangsters currently lodged in jails in Delhi, Punjab and Haryana, who are suspected to be operating their crime syndicates from behind bars, to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Information also reveals that NIA had sought the transfer of at least 25 gangsters from jails in North India to the southern states.

Sources said the initial proposal was to shift the gangsters to jails in South India, it would be a long procedure as permission would have to be sought from the state governments, since the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is a Union territory, and its administration comes under the Ministry, the  procedure will take much lesser time. for which legal opinion is being sought, an NIA  spokes persons said.
