Jathedar called upon the Government of India to awake and take immediate steps. “Punjab is a border state and if any such practices of forcible religious conversion are taking place in a border state with the support of foreign forces then it is alarming for the Indian state in future.”

He said Indian law does not permit forcible religious conversion but it is surprising how these people are running a large-scale campaign especially in the border area of Punjab.

Jathedar said. “Families of poor Sikhs and Hindus from backward classes are being targeted”.

“The law of the country gives benefit of reservation to Hindus and Sikhs but not to Christians. But it is surprising how benefits of reservation are being taken after becoming Christians in Punjab state. It is a matter of grave concern”, questioned Jathedar.
