Two members of Bhupi Rana gang arrested after attack on police

35 years old Bhupinder Singh Rana  alias Bhupi Rana presently having more than two dozen criminals cases including murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping, extortion, robberies, ransom demand and Aunder arms Act registered in three states Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan entered the world of crime about a decade ago during his college days in Ambala. He originally hails from village Handesra at a distance of about three kilometers from Ambala Cantt in Mohali district close to Haryana-Punjab border. Bhupi a leader of the gang is married and the father of a child. He is a graduate from a private college iat Ambala currently lodged in Patiala jail. He entered the world of crime following the student rivalry during his college days in Ambala. His rival also a student Monu Rana, who later formed his Monu Rana group had joined Lawrence Bishnoi gang prompting Bhupi Rana to join Devinder Bhambia gang, which is currently being operated by a fugitive gangster, Gaurav alias Lucky Patial. Bhupi Rana was arrested at Panchkula in July 2018 by the Crime Branch in connection with the murder of Bhupesh Rana belonged to Bhupi’s rival Monu Rana gang near Barwala in Panchkula on April 2018.

Bhupi Rana believed to use a cell phone inside the jail said to be operating a network from inside the jail having large number of supporters working for him.  Sources said his social media account on Facebook is being operated by his supporters. In June 2022, after the death of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala had also announced a reward of Rs 50 lakh on social media for the information about the Moosewala killers. Ambala police registered a case against two persons of Bhupi Rana gang being chased by Punjab police a couple of days ago when both started firing at police team at Shambhu Toll Plaza near Haryana-Punjab border. They were identified as Gaurav and Tarun when Gaurav sustained bullet injury with his own weapon. Both were arrested by Punjab police and taken to Punjab along with them. However, Ambala police took into custody white Swift car bearing registration number PB10-0241CC suspected stolen vehicle left at the site with burst tyres during firing and brought to Sadar police station Ambala City. Jashandeep Singh Randhawa SP Ambala told media persons that a case has been registered against Gaurav and Tarun allegedly attacked police team who will be brought on production warrants from Punjab.

Meanwhile, CIA Staff Ambala police has arrested two members of Babbar gang at Mullana identified as Sahil a resident of village Duliana and Monu alias Gurpreet Singh a resident of  village Jamal Majra in Ambala district and recovered from them two country made pistols and live cartridges. Both attempted to rob a petrol pump at village Dhanaura near Mullana in Ambala district and fired at the salesman who had a narrow escape but bid to rob petrol pump foiled. Information revealed that both arrested used to demand ransom money from rich persons on behalf of Babbar gang.

A couple of days ago CIA Staff-1 of Ambala police arrested three persons   involved in robberies and snatchingsw in Haryana and Punjab and recovered from them a bike, two knife and eight mobile phones. The arrested accused were identified as Ravinder Singh alias Ravi a resident of Jaggi Colony Rajpura working as a tattoo maker, Satnam Singh alias Satta resident of village Neelpur a gym trainer who was also mastermind in the gang and Devinder Singh alias Kaka  a resident of village Rudka. SP Ambala told media persons that three robbery cases were solved with the arrests of three persons of the gang during police remand.
