Vigilance team arrested 2 police officers sheltering accuse while accepting bribe

AMBALA (SATISH HANDA):  Haryana Home Minister sometime ago while talking to media persons had rightly said that while holding public meetings quite often at PWD Rest House and his Ambala residence frequently to listen and solve public grievances gets maximum complaints against police department in the state and directed all police commissioners to look into the matter personally and stop harassment to people visiting police stations for registering complaints with immediate action and submit him a copy as regard action on complaints every month. Surprisingly, Vigilance Bureau office Ambala succeeded in arresting accused in five corruption cases while accepting bribe only in a eriod of past three months with effect from January 1 till March 31this year. Whereas, Vigilance Bureau Ambala had arrested accused in 18 cases while accepting bribe in past three years including a high profile case in which  Chairperson of Kaithal Nagar Parishad Seema Kashyap was nabbed along with others by vigilance department team accepting Rs 3 lakh bribe.

What to speak of others, when police officers likely to have control over corruption themselves are arrested allegedly involved in corrupt practices and accepting bribe to save criminals. Recently, vigilance team Ambala  arrested Kulwinder Singh a EASI working in CID investigating a case and Rishi Pal Sub Inspector Saha police station while accepting Rs 20000 part payment against a deal for Rs 50000 to shelter accused in a case of quarrel and attempt to murder in which 13 persons were booked by Saha police station in Ambala district on December 19, 2021. According to information, both police officers were alleged involved in conspiracy to provide shelter to all accused in a second case of corruption reported at Saha police station in Ambala district in a week.

On the complaint of Ravinder a resident of village Sabka in Saha police station during Janta Durbar by State Home Minister Anil Vij that Saha police station not action against accused involved in a case of quarrel and murder attempt in-spite of the fact photographs of all alleged accuse as well as evidences were submitted to police station, Vij directed Jashandeep Singh Randhawa SP Ambala to take immediate action and sent report who forwarded case to DSP Barara Rajnish Sharma when facts were found true that police sheltering accused involved in criminal case when vigilance department team Ambala trapped both police officers Kulwinder of CID and Rjnish SI Saha police station investigating the case jointlyin their net while accepting part payment Rs 20000 bribe amount and arrested both.

Among prominent corruption cases reported during year 2021solved by Ambala Vigilance Branch include Ashok Kumar Patwari at Kaithal was arrested by vigilance team while accepting Rs 5000 bribe on 31st March 2021, Seema Kashyap Chairperson  Nagar Council at Kaithal was arrested by vigilance team while accepting Rs 3 lakh bribe on 9th May 2021, Manjeet another Patwari at Kaithal  was arrested by vigilance  team while accepting Rs 8000 bribe on 6th May 2021,  Lalit Kumar Patwari village Gadauli in Ambala district was arrested by vigilance team while taking Rs 5000 bribe on 24th June 2021 and Naresh Kumar  a Supervisor in Civil Hospital Ambala City was arrested by vigilance department team while accepting Rs 10000 bribe on 18th August 2021 to release a medical report.

During current year 2022, in past three months Vigilance Department Ambala arrested accused while accepting bribe in few cases including Sukhwinder a clerk working in state government office while taking Rs 3000 bribe on 3rd March, Anuj Patwari was arrested while accepting bribe in view of releasing a land ‘Intkal’ on 14th March, besides two officers were also trapped in vigilance net at Kaithal and Kurukshetra respectively while accepting cash as bribe.
