Wiping out drug business from state vital issue before Manohar government in Haryana

Illegal smuggling, sale and drug addiction among people, especially youths belonging to both sexes is a prime issue before Manohar government in Haryana state, widely discussed in recent Monsoon Vidhan Sabha session in which General Secretary INLD Abhay Singh Chautala also a former leader of opposition in Haryana Vidhan Sabha strongly condemned ruling BJP-JJP government unsuccessful to control this fast expanding illegal business. Abhay Chautala said, illegal smuggling, sale and drug addiction in people even children in the state is constantly rising since after year 2015. He said, consumption of drug among youths, both male and females residing in hostels, PG houses has become a fashion due to easy availability even at Paan shops, street venders, medical stores, general merchandize shops and door-to-door supply.

Supporting the issue Congress MLA Amit Sihag said that the number of drug addict patients in government hospitals and drug de-addiction centers in the state is fast increasing every year giving rise to patients suffering from HIV diseases due to blood infection as a result of use of single syringe by several while injecting drug in body. Sihag said that available data reveals that the number of drug addicted persons has witnessed three times increase in past 7-8 years. On the other hand Haryana home &health minister Anil Vij said that state government is serious to wipe out drug smuggling, sale and consumption completely from the state and Haryana is first in the country to set up Narcotic Control Bureau and looking at the efforts by Haryana state government now government in the centre has decided to  to establish a centre at Panchkula to control this evil business jointly by five states in North.

Another MLAs Shishpal Keharwal and Mewa Singh told that Sirsa and Hisar in Haryana state are worst affected districts witnessed drastic increase in drug addicted persons and large number of them even losing lives due to excessive use of drugs. Information reveals, since the year 2015 patients suffering from drug addiction has registered themselves at government hospitals in the state has been recorded as 44643 patients during year 2015, 57995 patients during year 2016, 70882 patients during year 2017, 101599 patients during year 2018,116111 patients during year 2019, 108426 patients during year 2020,115587 during year 2021 and 97174 patients during current year 2022 with effect from January 1 to July 31.

Information reveals,  Haryana state government has  constituted a plan to control drug smuggling, sale and addiction by establishing 6538 village level and 1710 ward level teams apart from setting eight pilot projects at Hisar, Sirda, Jind, Fatehabad, Yamunanagar, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Ambala and Panchkula to control the same.
