24 carat gold seized having a market value of Rs. 68,67,654

Amritsar : Custom officials  have seized 24 carat gold purity was  seized  having a market value of Rs. 68,67,654 from passenger who have arrived here from Dubai by Spicejet flight.

In a statement issued here today, official stated that the  staff of Shri Guru Ramdas ji  international Airprot (SGRDJI), Amritsar intercepted one passenger  coming from Dubai by Spicejet flight SG56 in the morning of the 19.09.2023. On his personal search, the passenger  was found to be carrying two packets containing gold in paste form concealed in his turban. The packets were wrapped with grey adhesive tapes. The gross weight of two packets was 1632 grams (813+819). After extraction total 1159 grams (578+581) of gold of 24 carat purity was  recovered from the passenger  having a market value of Rs. 68,67,654  appx. The same were seized under section 110 of Custom Act, 1962. Further investigation is under process.
