50 Crore corpus proposed for setting of 25 centres of excellence in Punjab: Vikramjit Singh Sahney

1000 job letters handed to the youth , First ever biggest recruitment drive in the private sector in Punjab

Amritsar, Dec 11 – Handing over the job letters to the skilled youth, Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Speaker Punjab Vidhan sabha said that its very noble work which is being done by Vikramjit Singh. In today’s time to give skills and then jobs to youth of Punjab is very appreciable.

Sandhwan appealed to Vikramjit Singh , MP Rajyasabha  to carry on this employment drive in the whole of the state and whatever the assistance is needed from the Punjab Government, Bhagwant Mann chief minister Punjab and his entire cabinet is there to support such a noble cause. The unemployment triggers youth towards drug menace. Speaking on the law and order situation in Punjab, Sandhwan said that nobody is above the law and the culprits who so ever will not be spared at all. 

Joining in the job letter handing ceremony Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal Cabinet Minister Punjab said that this is historic moment that today in the holy city of Amritsar 1000 youth of Punjab is being employment by Vikramjit Singh. This initiative will stop the migration of our youth to foreign lands and save our young minds for the development of Punjab. He also offered land to Vikramjit Singh for opening more skill centres across the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Inderbir Singh Nijjer, Cabinet Minister Punjab said that multi skill is the requirement for jobs of the youth of Punjab but we are actually going away from the skill development.

Going ahead with his endeavor to provide jobs to the youth of Punjab, Vikramjit Singh Sahney Member of Parliament Rajyasabha said that a corpus fund of 50 crore is being proposed with Govt of Punjab which would be spent on the creating 25 centre of excellence across the state. My goal is to give 50000 jobs to the trained students in these ITIs. All the present ITI would be upgraded to the world class skill centre with latest machinery according to the present industry standards and training as per the industry needs. 20 crore will be given by Govt. of India under a scheme called STRIVE (Skills Strengthening for Industrial Value Enhancement), 10 Crore has been already provided by the state govt for renovation of ITIs and one more instalment of 10 Crore will be released by the Finance minister for ITIs on my request. Balance amount of 10 Crore will be released by myself through my MPLAD fund and my personal contribution. These centres would be having the advanced facility for the placements of the students and the professional industry connect.

Vikaramjit Singh said that its my dream that I want to see the youth of Punjab to be employed and self-sustained because unemployment gives encouragement to many other serious problems in the society. Today we are handing over 1000 job letters to the skilled students from our centre in Amritsar and the students are placed locally in different sectors like industry, call centres, hotels, hospitality and hospitals. We have been running short term courses in Fitter, solar panel technician, Graphic designer, Nursing, Food and Beverage, Sales executive, Customer care, Data entry, Electrician, Welder, technician, fashion designing and artisans. We have also started training for Army recruitment also so that the youth of Punjab gets into the defence forces.
