Dhami welcomes merger of Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) into Shiromani Akali Dal

Amritsar : Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, has welcomed the decision of Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, President of Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) of merging his party with Shiromani Akali Dal. 

Dhami has also appealed to other Akali-minded leaders that in view of Panthic politics and the current situation, they should also unite under one flag of Shiromani Akali Dal.

Dhami has appealed to the entire Sikh community and Punjabi community to strengthen their regional party Shiromani Akali Dal for the welfare of Punjab. He said that Shiromani Akali Dal is the political party of this region which was established to protect the needs and rights of the region and solve the problems.

Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the Shiromani Akali Dal has represented the region throughout its 100-year history and acted as per its founding mission. Today there is a great need for Punjabis to strengthen their regional party Shiromani Akali Dal and the Panthic leaders who have gone away due to any reason in the past need to think more carefully and seriously. He said that the tendency of the people running the present government of Punjab to please their Delhi masters is taking the region to deep crises and if Punjab’s own party Shiromani Akali Dal is strong then the interests of Punjab will be safe.
