Poultry farming in Panchkula district worst affected due to birds death

Panchkula  (Satish Handa) :Though official sources claim that over a lakh poultry birds have been reported died due to disease yet to be identified suspected due to bird flue. According to residents of Barwala poultry belt in the district having population of 77,87,450 birds  nearly 4.10 lakh birds  have died and buried underground in past 10 days mostly in nearly 20 poultry farms at villages Garhi Kutah and Jaloti. Teams of doctors from Animal Husbandry & Dairy Department Haryana visited the area and collected samples of affected birds and forwarded the same to Regional Research Laboratory Jalandhar in Punjab for examination and the report  yet awaited.

According to doctors, birds died not due to birds flue but other diseases like Ranikhet and Larenjo Tracktice which would be identified on receipt of examination report from labo0ratory.  According to poultry farmers the sale of eggs has been adversely affected due to present crisis. Panic was seen among residents of area and surrounding villages suspecting infection from birds at the time when the country is facing threat of Corona epidemic outbreak in the country.
